The Day After

It’s the day after Christmas and all through the house
are cookie crumbs and chocolates (to the delight of the mouse).
The kids are all playing with new toys galore
And from the master bedroom all I hear is a snore.
My belly’s still full from that wonderful meal
though a mid-morning cookie snack does have its appeal.
Outside the sun shines on a sky clear and blue
And the yard’s full of tracks and bunny rabbit poo.
This Mama’s at peace, if only for a minute
And hopes that your Christmas had lots of joy in it.
(And with that terrible rhyme, my poem is done!)
